Staff Software Engineer, Liquidity Management

You will pioneer and scale Ripple Treasury's core liquidity management platform, drive architectural decisions, establish technical standards, lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and champion observability, incident response, and production excellence. You will partner with Product and Customer Success, collaborate across distributed teams, build ERP and banking integrations, develop machine learning models for cash flow prediction, design worksheet engines, optimize performance for billions of dollars in daily transactions, and create dashboards and alerting systems for covenant compliance and variance monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Drive architectural decisions balancing scalability, maintainability, and rapid deployment.
  • Establish technical standards, design patterns, coding standards, review practices, and testing strategies.
  • Lead technical design reviews and provide constructive architectural feedback.
  • Identify and eliminate technical debt and development bottlenecks.
  • Mentor mid-level and senior engineers toward technical leadership.
  • Break down complex, ambiguous problems into actionable work.
  • Champion observability, incident response, production excellence, and reliability.
  • Partner with Product and Customer Success to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate across teams in Ireland, the U.S., the Philippines, and Australia.
  • Influence the product roadmap through technical opportunities.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing infrastructure, and deployment processes.
  • Lead post-mortems and blameless retrospectives.
  • Anticipate scalability challenges and evaluate emerging technologies.
  • Own critical systems end-to-end from design through production support.
  • Build API integrations with major ERPs and banking systems.
  • Develop machine learning models for cash flow prediction and forecasting.
  • Build variance analysis and anomaly detection systems.
  • Design flexible worksheet engines for cash flow modeling.
  • Optimize processing for billions of dollars in daily transactions.
  • Build caching, aggregation, dashboards, visualizations, and covenant compliance alerts.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years working on complex business-critical production systems.
  • Experience with significant scale and multi-quarter cross-functional projects.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Production system ownership, on-call experience, and critical incident handling.
  • Experience leading designs implemented by teams of 3+ engineers.
  • Experience making lasting architectural decisions and mentoring engineers.
  • Proficiency with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of observability, microservices, service mesh, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and message queues.
  • Experience with multi-tenancy, data isolation, RBAC, audit logging, API versioning, and feature flagging.
  • Deep expertise with C#/.NET and relational databases, ideally SQL Server.
  • Experience with query optimization, indexing, data modeling, and large-scale multi-tenant applications.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and understanding GraphQL, gRPC, and webhooks.
  • Deep knowledge of React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and related technologies.
  • Preferred: financial concepts, banking systems, payment rails, MT940, BAI2, multi-currency handling, financial compliance, and third-party financial integrations.
