Staff Software Engineer
Build infrastructure powering global payments, including state machines, transaction pipelines, reconciliation flows, APIs, and asynchronous backend systems. Own features end to end, collaborate with leadership, business development, and customers, shape the platform, and establish engineering patterns and standards.
Responsibilities
- Build infrastructure for global payments.
- Develop state machines, transaction pipelines, and reconciliation flows.
- Own features end to end.
- Build client-facing APIs and asynchronous backend systems.
- Collaborate with the CTO, BD team, and customers to evolve the API and platform.
- Identify and communicate product and engineering improvements.
- Establish engineering patterns and standards.
- Review code and raise engineering quality.
- Contribute to platform and API development from the first week.
- Make engineering decisions focused on reliability, readability, and maintainability.
Requirements
- At least 4 years shipping production-grade infrastructure.
- Node.js and NestJS or comparable technologies.
- React and TypeScript.
- Client-facing API development experience.
- Experience with asynchronous backend systems and complex state machines.
- Experience with event queuing, job scheduling, webhook delivery, and failure recovery.
- Strong error handling and system resilience skills.
- Full-stack development experience.
- Comfort operating in a high-growth startup environment.
- Interest in stablecoins, global payments, and financial infrastructure.
