Senior SQL Server DBA
Our partner is a global technology distribution company establishing a new international engineering organization in Budapest. We are looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA to build, stabilize and improve business-critical database environments.
The position is ideal for a hands-on specialist who has experience setting up new database environments and brings strong expertise in ETL processes and data integrations. Production reliability remains the primary focus of the role.
Location: Budapest, district 5

- At least 5 years of experience in a production-focused DBA or Database Engineer role
- Strong hands-on Microsoft SQL Server expertise
- Experience building or launching new database environments
- Strong practical knowledge of ETL/ELT processes
- Advanced SQL Server performance tuning and query optimization skills
- Experience with backup, restore, recovery testing and disaster recovery
- Understanding of high availability, data integrity, security and permission management
- Experience supporting production incidents and database releases
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Fluent English and confident communication in an international environment
An advantage would be
- Experience with AlwaysOn, replication, log shipping or clustering
- Knowledge of SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Airflow or dbt
- Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instance or AWS RDS
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools and additional database technologies
- Experience improving database operations, processes and documentation
