Team Lead - Security Operations

At Slipstream Cyber, we're helping Australian organisations stay ahead of an ever-evolving threat landscape. Our Security Operations Centre operates 24x7, providing threat detection, incident response and cyber defence services to customers across the country.

We're looking for an experienced Team Lead - Security Operations to lead our frontline SOC team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll balance people leadership with operational responsibility; developing analysts, managing SOC operations, leading major incidents and participating in the on-call roster when required.

What You'll Do:

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing SOC team.
• Manage a 24x7 Security Operations Centre, including shift coverage, workforce planning and operational readiness.
• Lead major incident response activities and provide escalation support for complex security events.
• Participate in the on-call roster and provide leadership during critical incidents.
• Drive threat detection, threat hunting, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build team capability through mentoring, certifications and career development.
• Partner with customers and stakeholders to deliver exceptional security outcomes.
• Use reporting and metrics to improve performance, efficiency and service delivery.

What You'll Bring:

• Experience leading a Security Operations Centre (SOC) or Cyber Defence team in a 24x7 environment.
• Strong hands-on experience across incident response, threat detection and security operations.
• Proven ability to lead analysts through high-pressure incidents, escalations and operational challenges.
• Experience managing shift rosters, team performance, service delivery and on-call responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM platforms, threat intelligence and security monitoring tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Working knowledge of security frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001 and MITRE ATT&CK.

Certifications Required:

• Microsoft Security Operations Analyst
• Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator Associate
• Splunk Power User

Additional certifications such as Security+, CySA+, MITRE ATT&CK Defender, CrowdStrike or Netskope are highly regarded.
