Team Lead Software Engineer

Lead a software engineering team responsible for Adyen’s Global Cards platform in APAC, guiding technical direction, architecture, scalable payment software delivery, engineering quality, and collaboration with global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Software Engineers
• Foster a high-performing culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning
• Translate business priorities into scalable technical solutions
• Drive the team’s technical direction
• Guide architectural discussions and engineering decisions
• Deliver reliable and scalable card payment software
• Improve engineering practices and execution
• Resolve complex technical challenges
• Improve testing, observability, operational excellence, and developer productivity
• Author the Credit Card Payments strategy in APAC

Requirements

• Experience leading and developing software engineering teams
• Strong software engineering background
• Large-scale distributed systems experience
• Java or similar backend technology experience
• Technical mentorship and feedback experience
• Architectural decision-making experience
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Payment systems or card payments experience preferred
• Experience building resilient and scalable systems
