Technical Manager – Audio Visual & ELV Solutions Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE | Full-time, on-site
About the role
We're looking for a Technical Manager to own the technical side of our AV and ELV business — from pre-sales design and system engineering through to installation, commissioning, and handover. You'll be the technical authority the sales team leans on, the person our clients and consultants trust in a design review, and the one accountable for delivering systems that work as specified.
Key responsibilities
- Lead technical design of AV and ELV systems: audio, video, control, digital signage, CCTV, access control, structured cabling, PA/voice evacuation integration as required
- Review client requirements, tender documents, and consultant specifications; produce compliant technical proposals, BOQs, and system schematics
- Support the sales team in pre-sales — technical presentations, client demos, site surveys, and value engineering
- Select and validate equipment, evaluate supplier and manufacturer solutions, and maintain technical relationships with vendors
- Oversee project execution: shop drawings, method statements, installation supervision, testing, commissioning, and handover documentation
- Manage and mentor the technical and installation team; allocate resources across concurrent projects
- Ensure delivery meets project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and UAE/Abu Dhabi authority and code requirements
- Troubleshoot escalated technical issues on site and oversee after-sales support and maintenance contracts

Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Communications Engineering (or equivalent)
- 7+ years in AV and ELV systems, with at least 3 years in a technical lead or management role
- Proven UAE project experience; familiarity with Abu Dhabi authority approvals (ADDC, Civil Defence, Monitoring & Control Centre) strongly preferred
- Hands-on expertise across major AV/ELV platforms — e.g. Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, Bosch, Dante, Barco, Hikvision, Lenel, or equivalent
- Strong command of AutoCAD, Visio, and design/estimation tools
- Certifications such as CTS / CTS-D / CTS-I, Crestron, Q-SYS, or manufacturer-specific credentials are a strong advantage
- Comfortable presenting to clients and consultants; excellent English communication (Arabic an advantage)
- UAE driving licence and valid residency or transferable visa
