Test Engineer, Vehicle Integration (ECUs)
Job Overview
Harbinger is seeking a Software Integration & Test Engineer to serve as a key technical driver for our vehicle embedded systems and ADAS firmware. You will bridge the gap between software development and vehicle hardware, validating ECU communications, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring the integrity of our software stacks on the vehicle platform. This role relies heavily on the Vector toolchain, network analysis, and calibration tools to ensure our medium-duty commercial electric vehicles perform flawlessly.
What You'll Do:
-
Software Validation & Integration: Integrate and validate software components across ECUs, sensors, and vehicle platforms, supporting SIL, HIL, and vehicle-level testing activities.
-
Network Simulation & Analysis: Use CANoe and CANalyzer to simulate ECU behavior, monitor bus traffic, and debug communication issues across CAN, CAN FD, and Automotive Ethernet networks.
-
Measurement & Calibration: Utilize CANape for real-time ECU calibration, XCP data measurement, and diagnostic flashing, while using vSignalyzer for comprehensive offline data analysis and visualization of measurement logs.
-
Deep Packet Inspection: Analyze logs, traces, and complex network captures using Wireshark to troubleshoot SOME/IP, DoIP, UDP, and TCP protocols on our vehicle ethernet networks.
-
Module Flashing & Configuration: Use RaptorCAL to program, calibrate, and manage parameter sets for Raptor-based and production vehicle control units.
-
Performance Optimization: Conduct CPU, memory, and task scheduling profiling to monitor and optimize software stack performance on embedded multi-core MCU/SoC platforms.
-
Root Cause Analysis: Act as a "black box" tester to concretely verify system performance, leveraging logs, traces, and replay systems to identify and resolve system-level bugs.
Who You Are (Qualifications):
-
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
-
Experience: 3+ years of experience in automotive software integration, HIL/SIL testing, or embedded firmware validation.
-
Tool Proficiency: Proven hands-on experience with the Vector toolchain (CANoe, CANape, CANalyzer, vSignalyzer) for measurement, calibration, and simulation.
-
Network Diagnostics: Strong proficiency with Wireshark, tcpdump, and automotive protocols including CAN, CAN FD, Automotive Ethernet, UDS, and XCP.
-
Calibration Experience: Familiarity with model-based control tools and flashing/calibration software like RaptorCAL.
-
Software Skills: Strong proficiency in Python and C/C++ for developing test automation frameworks and scripting. Experience with Embedded Linux development and ROS2/DDS middleware is a strong plus.
