Tour Operations Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible Tour Operations Manager to join our company as our first employee and play a key role in establishing and developing our tour operations.
This is a hands-on management position that combines tour guiding, customer service, operations management, and business development. The successful candidate will work closely with the company founder to build and manage day-to-day operations, deliver high-quality travel experiences, and help develop the company as it grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee day-to-day tour and travel operations.
- Lead and conduct tours while providing professional and engaging guidance to customers.
- Plan and coordinate tour itineraries, schedules, transportation, and other operational arrangements.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service and overall guest experience.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, hotels, transport providers, and other business partners.
- Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and operational issues professionally.
- Monitor tour quality, safety, and compliance with relevant requirements.
- Assist in developing new tour products, itineraries, and travel experiences.
- Support the company founder in establishing operational procedures and workflows.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business performance.
- As the company grows, assist in recruiting, training, and managing additional tour staff and guides.
Requirements
- Previous experience in tourism, travel, hospitality, tour operations, or a related field.
- Experience in a supervisory or management role is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Confident in leading groups and communicating with customers from different backgrounds.
- Good knowledge of local attractions, destinations, culture, and tourism services.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Proactive, reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-growing company.
- Fluent spoken and written English. Additional languages, especially Mandarin, are an advantage.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
- Previous experience managing tours, travel operations, or a small team.
- Relevant tour guide or tourism certification.
- Experience working with international or Chinese-speaking tourists is an advantage.
