Tuition Center Manager

The Tuition Centre Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, academic quality, staff performance, and overall growth of the centre. The role requires a balance of administrative leadership, people management, customer service, and business development to ensure the smooth delivery of educational programmes and a positive learning experience for students.

Key Responsibilities

1. Centre Operations & Administration

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the tuition centre.
  • Oversee class scheduling, student enrolments, and overall operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, educational standards, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor budgets, control expenses, and support the preparation of financial reports.
  • Ensure the centre is adequately staffed and operationally prepared to support scheduled classes and activities.

2. Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and support teachers, tutors, and administrative staff.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to support staff development and improvement.
  • Oversee teachers' centre-related matters, including attendance, punctuality, parent communication, and timely operational follow-through.
  • Address staff performance and operational issues promptly and appropriately.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with staff and management to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

3. Academic Quality Assurance

  • Monitor teaching standards and student outcomes to support academic quality.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of curriculum guidelines and teaching methodologies.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and support to educators to maintain consistent teaching standards.
  • Monitor student progress and identify areas requiring academic or operational improvement.

4. Customer & Student Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and students.
  • Address enquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students and families to support student satisfaction and retention.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints appropriately, escalating matters to management where necessary.

5. Marketing & Business Development

  • Plan and execute marketing initiatives to attract new student enrolments.
  • Organise and manage promotional events, open houses, and partnerships with schools and community organisations.
  • Support student recruitment and conversion activities to achieve enrolment targets.
  • Monitor centre performance closely and take timely action to address gaps in enrolment, retention, customer service, sales, and operations.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth and development.

6. Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including student enrolment, retention, revenue, and academic performance.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for management review.
  • Analyse centre performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, student retention, and centre growth.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma qualification; a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification will be an advantage.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience is preferred.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the education, enrichment, or service industry, with experience in a supervisory, academic coordination, or management role.
  • Proven track record in team management and achieving business, operational, or academic targets.
  • Experience in the education or enrichment industry, as well as sales and marketing, will be an added advantage.

Special Requirements

  • Due to the operational requirements of the tuition centre, the incumbent is required to adopt a flexible approach to working hours, including shift work, evening hours, and weekends.
  • The position requires a 5-day work week, comprising 3 weekdays and 2 weekend days.
  • The incumbent is expected to be available to work during evening hours, particularly during peak class periods.
  • The position description includes, but is not limited to, the key areas of responsibility outlined above. The incumbent may be required to undertake other duties that are reasonably related to the role and in line with the centre’s operational needs, as directed by the supervisor.
