Unit Manager (RN)

At Vicar's Landing, our nursing leaders help shape the quality of care that residents receive every day. As a Unit Manager (RN), you'll provide clinical leadership for a Skilled Nursing unit while supporting care operations across our Health Services community.

In this role, you'll lead a team of dedicated caregivers, coordinate resident care, support quality initiatives, and serve as a trusted resource for residents, families, and staff. You'll have the opportunity to blend your clinical expertise with leadership skills while helping create an environment where residents thrive and team members grow.

Clinical Leadership & Resident Care

  • Lead the day-to-day clinical operations of a Skilled Nursing unit serving up to 30 residents
  • Coordinate resident care and ensure appropriate communication among residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Monitor changes in resident condition and ensure prompt, appropriate clinical intervention
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and care transitions
  • Support development and implementation of individualized care plans
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff

Family Communication & Team Collaboration

  • Partner with residents and families to ensure exceptional service and care experiences
  • Foster positive relationships with physicians, therapists, pharmacy providers, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Promote teamwork and effective communication across all departments
  • Assist in resolving concerns and ensuring resident satisfaction

Quality, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as facility policies and procedures
  • Review documentation, physician orders, assessments, and progress notes for accuracy and completeness
  • Monitor reports related to infection control, medication management, quality measures, and risk reduction
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and root cause analyses
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with leadership on solutions

Staff Development & Support

  • Support orientation, competency evaluations, and ongoing staff education
  • Assist with clinical training and in-service programs
  • Reinforce infection prevention practices, hand hygiene, PPE use, and safety standards
  • Encourage professional growth and accountability among team members
