About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Hardware Engineer to join our Value Management (VM) organization within the Intelligent Cockpit SBU. This role sits at the core of execution, driving value creation through hands-on engagement in VM workshops and continuous development of the ideation pipeline.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and mature cost optimization opportunities across IVI/CDC programs. By applying value engineering principles at the product and component level, you will play a key role in translating ideas into actionable solutions that deliver measurable cost, quality, and performance improvements. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly influence product competitiveness while building strong technical and business acumen.

Your Team

  • Own and manage the VM ideation pipeline, ensuring continuous flow, prioritization, and tracking of value ideas from creation to implementation

  • Analyze system architecture, HW blocks, and mechanical concepts to identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining product performance and quality

  • Collaborate closely with hardware and mechanical engineering, system architecture, procurement, and program teams to validate feasibility and drive implementation of ideas

  • Perform technical investigations and design change verifications of analog and digital hardware functional blocks during technical feasibility analysis stages

  • Support RFQ/RFX activities by contributing cost-saving ideas and strengthening BOM competitiveness through targeted value engineering inputs

  • Drive data-driven decision making by maintaining accurate tracking of savings, pipeline maturity, and implementation status across programs

  • Promote reuse of proven ideas and HW blocks across projects to accelerate cost optimization and improve time to market

  • Actively contributes to continuous improvement of VM processes, workshop methodologies, and tools to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering; an advanced degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware design or component engineering, Value Management or related disciplines such as VAVE, cost engineering (electronic systems), within the automotive or technology sectors.

  • Understanding of automotive electronics requirements and technologies and the end-to-end value chain.

  • Basic knowledge of CAD tools for schematic/PCB layout realization and electrical circuits simulation (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Spice).

  • Experience in using laboratory tools and hardware bench testing.

  • Proven ability to lead technical presentations and facilitate workshops with both internal teams and external partners.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, KPI tracking, and relevant software tools.

  • Ability to clearly explain complex technical issues and justify technical decisions.

What is Nice to Have

  • Basic experience with worst-case calculations tools (e.g., Mathcad).

  • Basic knowledge of commonly used interfaces in infotainment systems (e.g., I2C, CAN, LIN, PCIe, UART, USB, etc).

  • Automotive Tier1 RFQ experience.

  • Experience with Automotive Infotainment/Intelligent-Cockpit products and projects.

  • Project management and organizational capabilities, with a track record of managing multiple priorities effectively.

What We Offer

  • Access to employee discounts on world-class products (JBL, HARMAN Kardon, AKG, and more)

  • Extensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN University
