About the Position
Automatorr is seeking an experienced Web Designer to join its team on a full-time basis.
The Web Designer will develop the visual design, layout and navigation of websites, portals, dashboards and other web-based components used in Automatorr’s technology projects. The role will combine text, graphics, illustrations and other digital materials to create clear, functional and visually engaging web experiences.
The Web Designer will collaborate with clients, management, developers, engineers and other technical personnel to ensure that approved web designs meet project requirements and can be effectively implemented.
Key Responsibilities
The Web Designer will:
consult with clients and project teams to determine the objectives, content, functional requirements and technical limitations of web design briefs;
formulate design concepts for websites, web-based interfaces, portals and dashboards;
determine page structure, layout, navigation and the presentation of online information;
prepare sketches, mock-ups, illustrations and layouts to communicate proposed designs;
create web graphics, page components, icons and other digital design assets;
select and arrange text, images, graphics, animation and other materials for web publication;
establish design requirements for typography, colour, imagery, spacing and visual consistency;
present and refine design concepts in consultation with clients, management and technical personnel;
prepare detailed designs and production specifications for implementation by developers;
collaborate with developers and engineers to integrate designs into software and automation environments;
supervise the production of approved designs and review completed web pages for consistency with the design brief;
identify and correct visual, layout, navigation and presentation issues before publication; and
maintain and update website layouts, graphics and digital content.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
a relevant tertiary qualification in communication design, digital design, web design, multimedia, visual communication or a related field;
at least two years of relevant professional experience in web, digital, communication or multimedia design;
experience preparing web layouts, graphics, illustrations and digital design materials;
knowledge of website structure, navigation and contemporary web design principles;
proficiency in relevant graphic, digital or web design software;
experience collaborating with clients and technical project teams;
a portfolio demonstrating relevant web and digital design work;
strong visual communication and creative problem-solving skills; and
effective communication and attention to detail.
