Web Designer
You will lead the design and experience for Hex's website, documentation site, and future web surfaces. The role combines visual, UX, and UI design with hands-on front-end implementation, launch asset ownership, roadmap development, and eventual team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and experience for Hex's web surfaces.
- Design and implement production-ready front-end code using React, Next.js, and CSS.
- Own launch assets alongside marketing.
- Establish visual quality, patterns, and consistency across web experiences.
- Partner with designers and marketers on clear, compelling storytelling.
- Drive the long-term web roadmap and identify opportunities for performance, clarity, and experimentation.
- Collaborate with engineering partners and contribute front-end code.
- Support product illustrations and light motion.
- Hire, manage, and mentor engineers and designers over time.
- Influence Design team processes, standards, and creative culture.
Requirements
- 8+ years of web, visual, or UI design experience with a strong portfolio.
- Strength across UX, layout, visual design, and typography.
- Experience designing marketing surfaces for technical, B2B, or product-led companies.
- Fluency in HTML, CSS, React, and Next.js with the ability to ship production-quality code.
- Strong attention to implementation details.
- Sharp eye for visual consistency, motion, micro-interaction quality, and illustration.
- Ability to operate autonomously and own projects from concept to launch.
- Interest in establishing processes, patterns, and design rituals.
- Clear communication and cross-functional fluency.
- Comfort with both high-level creative direction and hands-on execution.
