As our Yard Manager, you’ll play a key role in supervising our yard operations, which involve sorting materials, loading, operating equipment, and managing truck flow. Your main goal will be to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive environment for everyone on site. This isn’t just a desk job; we’re searching for someone who enjoys collaboration and can dive right in with the team to resolve challenges and keep everything running smoothly.
**Your Exciting Responsibilities Will Include:**
- Leading daily yard operations, supervising all aspects of loading/unloading, sorting, and equipment use.
- Reducing downtime and ensuring a swift turnaround for incoming and outgoing trucks.
- Supporting and guiding yard employees, including drivers, operators, sorters, and laborers.
- Upholding safety standards by ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company protocols.
- Performing regular equipment inspections and coordinating maintenance to keep everything in tip-top shape.
- Collaborating closely with the General Manager to address performance, challenges, and growth opportunities.
- Operating equipment as needed, such as forklifts, skid steers, front-end loaders, and yard trucks.
- Helping to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient site for everyone!
**Supervisory Responsibilities:**
This role requires strong leadership and coaching skills, as you'll directly supervise a passionate team of Leads, Drivers, Equipment Operators, Maintenance Mechanics, Sorters, and Operational Support—empowering them to perform at their best!
