Year-long Internship - Quality Assurance Engineer Intern
Summary
QA Engineer intern who validates and tests features across Noblis's web applications by executing test plans, documenting defects, and collaborating with analysts and developers within an Agile Scrum team. Mostly remote with occasional in-person work in Reston, VA.
We are seeking a motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Enterprise Technologies team where you will be helping to validate and test features across our suite of applications. This opportunity will be require you to work with both an analyst and developer in order to understand both business reasons and outline bugs and issues to the developer.
This is for a part-time internship during the school year with an opportunity to extend into our summer program. Interns will mostly work remote but may be asked to attend in person in Reston, VA occasionally.
Responsibilities
You will be a member of an Agile Scrum cross-functional team developing a new feature for one of the web applications that align with the strategic goals of the organization.
This position will primarily be individual work however you will be actively engaged and involved with an Agile project team to ensure the quality of corporate solutions. Although this role will primarily include quality assurance tasks, this position will include opportunities for largely interacting with both the development team and analyst team to gain a greater understanding for future interest.
Qualified candidate will provide quality assurance support to Noblis directed software development solutions and projects, to include:
- Execute and develop test plans
- Document test plan findings and defects
- Work with Analysts and Developers to report findings and recommendations
- Operate within an Agile software development environment
- Active participation in the following scrum ceremonies remotely:
- Sprint Planning
- Daily Scrums
- Grooming Sessions
- Sprint Reviews
Required Qualifications
- US Person (Citizenship or US Permnanent Resident)
- Must have at least a 3.3 GPA
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (computer science or related) with one semester remaining
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team using Agile Scrum
- Strong self-organization and self-management skills, with emphasis on self-initiation and follow through
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are extremely important to effectively communicate with team members remotely
- Positive and professional customer and user centric attitude

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
