Business Operations Lead, Compensation & Equity
Lead high-priority compensation and equity projects from analysis through execution. Build models and decision frameworks, advise senior stakeholders, improve compensation processes, develop tools and dashboards, automate recurring work with AI, and assess compensation practices against market data, hiring needs, retention risk, budgets, and internal equity.
Responsibilities
- Lead compensation and equity projects from problem definition through execution
- Build analytical models and decision frameworks for compensation bands, equity grants, refresh programs, promotion cycles, retention offers, international compensation, incentives, and executive scenarios
- Partner with People, Talent, Finance, Legal, Sales, Product, Engineering, and executive leaders
- Run and improve merit cycles, promotion cycles, equity refreshers, offer governance, and special compensation reviews
- Develop tools, templates, dashboards, and workflows for compensation decisions
- Use AI to automate compensation analysis and decision-support work
- Evaluate compensation and equity philosophy against market data, hiring needs, retention risk, budget constraints, and internal equity
Requirements
- 4-8 years of experience in business operations, corporate strategy, consulting, finance, people strategy, total rewards, or another analytical operating role
- Exceptional analytical and structured problem-solving skills
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills
- Experience building executive-facing analyses, operating models, decision memos, or board-level materials
- Practical AI fluency
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Emotional intelligence and discretion
- Low ego, high ownership, strong business judgment, and interest in compensation, equity, talent markets, and people systems
- Ability to work onsite from Ramp's New York office three or more days per week
