Hardware Engineer Intern, Summer 2027

Join Akuna Capital's FPGA team for a 10-week summer internship focused on designing hardware solutions, investigating automated trading algorithms, and building high-performance, low-latency systems. Interns own a project and present their work at the end of the program.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement hardware solutions
• Collaborate with hardware and C++ software engineers
• Investigate and create automated trading algorithms
• Work on high-performance computing systems
• Develop low-latency systems
• Own an internship project
• Present project work and accomplishments

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer and Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Graduating by August 2029
• GPA of 3.5 or above
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on the first day of employment, including F-1 students using CPT, OPT, or STEM
• Knowledge of digital logic circuit design
• Knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to react quickly and accurately to changing market conditions
• Ability to solve math and coding problems
• Ability to create understandable and testable designs
