Project Manager, Marine& Ports

Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Project Manager to join ABB Oy, Marine & Ports Division in Vuosaari, Helsinki or Raisio, Finland. The Project Management team is part of the Marine Propulsion Service Finland organization, which supports global marine customers throughout the lifecycle of their Azipod® propulsion systems.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing Azipod® propulsion system dry-docking, maintenance and modernization projects, ensuring that projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with contractual and ABB requirements.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Oversee the execution of Marine Propulsion Service projects, including Azipod® dry-docking, maintenance and modernization projects, from handover through completion, in accordance with Project Management Framework.

• Take overall responsibility for project scope, schedule, financial performance, risks, quality, HSE, and contractual obligations, ensuring on-time completion to the customer.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery of the project scope and milestones.

• Manage customer and stakeholder relationships throughout the project, ensuring clear communication, aligned expectations and professional handling of project-related issues.

• Consistently contributes to the continuous improvement of project management processes, practices and ways of working.

Qualifications for the Role

• Technical background, preferably B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering or a similar field.

• A few years of experience in project management within service or marine projects.

• Structured and analytical approach, with demonstrated ownership, integrity and responsibility in project execution,

• Initiative-driven and solution-focused, with the capacity to prioritize and work effectively in a demanding environment.

• You have experience in direct customer interactions, with a strong service mindset and good communication skills in English.

• Experience in propulsion products or dry-docking projects is considered an advantage.
