Risk Operations Specialist, Payments
Support the daily execution and efficiency of payment operations by managing and monitoring payment workflows, reconciling activity, investigating transaction issues, coordinating refunds and money movement, communicating case status, preparing audit and regulatory-reporting materials, maintaining process documentation, and contributing to operational improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Support daily payment workflows, including ACH, wire transfers, card payments, and Ramp Business Account transactions
- Monitor and reconcile payment activity
- Identify discrepancies and investigate or resolve transaction issues
- Coordinate refunds and money movement processes
- Communicate case status with internal teams and customers
- Resolve user-reported payment and linking issues with Customer Support, Risk, and Product
- Prepare data and documentation for audits and regulatory reporting
- Participate in projects that improve payment accuracy, reduce operational risk, and scale payment processes
- Identify operational inefficiencies or gaps and propose improvements
- Maintain process documentation and knowledge management
- Provide internal and external customer support through email and other communication channels
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in payment operations, financial operations, treasury operations, or a related function
- Working knowledge of ACH, wire transfers, and card payment systems
- Experience using and building with AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, or support operational decision-making
- Ability to handle complex reconciliations or operational workflows
- Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate across teams and document processes clearly
- Analytical and problem-solving skills focused on data accuracy and continuous improvement
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
