Senior Software Engineer - Salesforce CPQ
Summary
Design, develop, and optimize Salesforce CPQ solutions covering product bundles, pricing rules, quote templates, and approval workflows. Day-to-day work is hands-on Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, and Flow Builder, partnering with Admins and DevOps on releases and integrations.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Salesforce CPQ to design, develop, and optimize CPQ solutions that drive efficient quoting, pricing, and approval processes, while collaborating closely with Admins and DevOps teams to support seamless releases and deployments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and customize Salesforce CPQ functionality including product bundles, product rules, price rules, discount schedules, quote templates, and approvals/advance approvals
- Develop and optimize bundles, product options, constraints, and discount rules
- Build and maintain CPQ automation and integration using Apex, Flows, SOQL, and platform events where needed
- Optimize complex pricing strategies such as slab pricing, subscription pricing, block pricing, and automated discounts
- Enhance custom quote templates, proposal documents, and integrations with tools such as DocuSign
- Maintain quote templates, proposal documents, and integrations with e-signature tools
- Troubleshoot CPQ issues including performance bottlenecks, pricing errors, and data inconsistencies
- Ensure CPQ configuration aligns with Salesforce best practices, coding standards, and version control processes
- Support releases, deployments, and UAT cycles in coordination with Admins and DevOps
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and contribute to continuous process improvement
Requirements
- 6-9 years of experience in software development
- 3–5 years of Salesforce development experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ (Steel Brick)
- Expertise in Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components (LWCs), and Flow Builder
- Understanding of the CPQ data model, product rules (configuration, validation, selection), price rules, lookup tables, and quoting lifecycle
- Skills in optimizing CPQ performance for large bundles or complex pricing logic
- Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD tools
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Nice to have
- QCP Experience
- Salesforce Platform Developer I/II certification
- Experience with Salesforce Billing or subscription-based pricing
- Expertise integrating CPQ with external systems (e.g., billing, ERP, pricing engines) via APIs or middleware (Boomi, MuleSoft)
- Background in SaaS, manufacturing, or B2B enterprise environment
