Job Summary
The Senior System Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting end-to-end technical solutions that meet customers’ business and operational requirements. This role provides technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system architecture, Proof of Concept (POC), implementation, system integration, troubleshooting, and post-deployment support.
The incumbent will collaborate closely with customers, project teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of secure, scalable, and reliable solutions. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continuous improvement of technical standards and best practices.
Job Responsibilities
1. Solution Design and Development
Lead the analysis of customer requirements and translate business needs into practical and effective technical solutions.
Design system architectures, integration workflows, and technical specifications that meet project requirements.
Evaluate technologies, products, and system components to recommend suitable solutions.
Lead the development and presentation of Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate solution feasibility and effectiveness.
Ensure proposed solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with industry best practices.
Prepare technical proposals, solution designs, system diagrams, and scope-of-work documentation.
2. System Implementation and Technical Support
Lead and perform the configuration, installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and deployment of system solutions.
Ensure implementations comply with approved designs, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during implementation and post-deployment.
Conduct root cause analysis and recommend preventive or corrective measures for recurring issues.
Review system performance and recommend improvements, upgrades, or optimisation measures.
Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including system configurations, test records, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
3. Project and Stakeholder Collaboration
Provide technical consultation and support during the pre-sales, project implementation, and post-implementation phases.
Work closely with customers, project managers, internal teams, vendors, and third-party partners to ensure smooth project delivery.
Coordinate the evaluation, procurement, and integration of hardware, software, and other system components.
Communicate technical concepts and proposed solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Identify technical risks, dependencies, and implementation challenges, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
Support project planning by providing technical input on project scope, resources, timelines, and deliverables.
4. Technical Leadership and Development
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
Review technical work, system designs, configurations, and documentation to ensure quality and consistency.
Develop and promote technical standards, procedures, and best practices within the team.
Stay updated on industry developments, emerging technologies, and applicable cybersecurity practices.
Participate actively in relevant training programmes, workshops, summits, conferences, and professional development activities.
Share technical knowledge and lessons learned with the team to strengthen overall technical capabilities.
Job Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in system solution design, IT infrastructure, network engineering, system integration, or a related field.
Proven experience in independently designing, implementing, and supporting complex technical solutions.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and ERP or HRMS platforms.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, virtual machines, and virtualisation technologies.
Good understanding of networking, system security, cloud infrastructure, and system integration principles.
Experience in technical documentation, solution proposals, system testing, and project implementation.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
Basic scripting knowledge in PowerShell or Python would be an advantage.
Relevant professional certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or ITIL, would be an advantage.
Prior experience in mentoring junior engineers or leading technical workstreams would be an advantage.
