Software Engineer, Fraud & Identity
Build and evolve backend services that detect and prevent fraud across account access and money movement. Develop enforcement and response tooling, improve account-takeover protections, design observable systems with metrics, dashboards, alerting, and incident playbooks, strengthen authentication and identity foundations, and drive technical design, implementation, rollout, and iteration based on outcome metrics.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve backend services that detect and prevent fraud across account access and money movement
- Develop enforcement and response tooling for identity locks, business locks, payment freezes, and other containment actions
- Improve protections against account takeover through risk-based step-ups, monitoring, targeted friction controls, and MFA surge detection and alerting
- Design and operate observable systems with metrics, dashboards, alerting, and incident and fraud-campaign playbooks
- Strengthen authentication and identity foundations, including roles, permissions, and identity state
- Drive technical design, implementation, rollout strategy, and iteration based on outcome metrics
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including APIs, distributed systems, data modeling, and reliability
- Experience building data-informed detection or decisioning systems, or strong interest in learning in this domain
- Ability to operate production systems through debugging, incident response, instrumentation, and automation
- Cross-functional communication skills and comfort working with product and operations partners
