Essential Duties and Responsibilities |

|
Operational Management & Fabrication Oversight · Manage all welding and fabrication operations for subsea and surface equipment in accordance with company procedures and client specifications. · Oversee daily workshop activities including welding, cutting, fitting, and fabrication of structures and assemblies. · Review and approve fabrication drawings and ensure production aligns with engineering requirements. · Develop work schedules, allocate manpower, and coordinate with Planning and Production to meet project delivery dates. · Monitor work progress and resolve any technical or resource issues to maintain smooth workflow. · Ensure all welding operations comply with applicable standards (AWS D1.1, ASME, API, ISO, etc.). |

Quality Assurance (QA) · Ensure all welding and fabrication activities meet OSI’s Quality Management System (QMS) and client specifications. · Oversee Welding Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs) and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT) to ensure validity and compliance. · Verify welding consumables, materials traceability, and adherence to approved procedures. · Liaise closely with QA/QC, Engineering, and clients for inspections, hold points, and approvals. · Investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and maintain fabrication documentation |

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) · Promote a proactive safety culture within the Welding & Fabrication Department. · Ensure full compliance with OSI’s HSE policies, risk assessments, and work permits. · Enforce the correct use of PPE and ensure compliance with safe work practices. · Participate in safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations. · Monitor environmental controls (fume extraction, waste management, fire safety). |

Leadership and Development · Lead, coach, and mentor Supervisors, Welders, and Fabricators to build technical competence and performance accountability. · Conduct training and qualification programs in collaboration with the QA/QC Welding Engineer. · Conduct annual appraisals and identify skill development needs within the team. · Promote teamwork, discipline, and professional conduct across all workshop personnel. |

Continuous Improvement & Resource Management · Optimize welding and fabrication processes to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and minimize waste. · Implement Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices in the fabrication area. · Manage material utilization, equipment maintenance, and consumable control. · Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and process improvements. · Support capital expenditure proposals for upgrading welding machines, jigs, and fabrication tools |

Reporting & Coordination · Provide weekly progress reports on welding and fabrication status to management. · Coordinate with other departments (Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, HSE) to ensure alignment of objectives. · Support project bidding and estimation by providing accurate welding/fabrication input and manhour forecasts. · Represent the Welding & Fabrication Department in internal/external meetings. |
